Story time in our classroom followed by open play in our gymnasium for children aged birth to 5 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult, as supervision is not provided. This is a time for parents and children to socialize and play. Please bring any supplies needed such as diapers, wipes, bottles, etc. Call (252) 354-6350 for more details.

Emerald Plantation Shopping Center

26th Annual Emerald Isle St. Patrick’s Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 11th from 9am-6pm at the Emerald Plantation shopping center. Admission and parking are free for the festival.  This year’s festival will feature over 75 arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, petting zoo and rides, clowns and static displays along with amusement rides, face painters, and many other fun family-oriented activities.

Festival goers over 21 can also enjoy a beer garden.

The Emerald Isle Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will
host its 2nd annual Bike the Banks-Crystal Coast Lighthouse Century
on Saturday, May 7, as part of the committee’s ongoing effort to
promote the area as a one of the top bicycle-riding destinations along
the North Carolina coast.

The event will feature three rides of varying length, all beginning at the
Emerald Isle Community Center. 

Cyclists can choose from the following options:

  • “10-mile Fun Run” along the bicycle and pedestrian path in Emerald Isle;
  • The “Fort Macon 50-miler” a round trip ride to Fort Macon along Highway 58;
  • The “Crystal Coast Century”, a 100-mile round trip to Cape Lookout.  

The entry fee for the Fun Run is $25.
Entry fees for the Fort Macon and Century rides are $40 each.

Market Report for Emerald Isle NC for January 2015 shows that there were 13 homes SOLD in January. One home sold in Pebble Beach, one home was located in Ocean Reef subdivision, one property was located in Emerald Isle By The Sea subdivision, One property was located in Oakland Hills subdivision, two homes were located in Archers Point subdivision, two homes were located in Shell Cove subdivision, and the remaining 4 homes sold in unincorporated areas of Emerald Isle NC. The average price for a home sold in Emerald Isle NC in January 2015 was $441,425. The lowest price home that sold was priced at $196,000. The highest priced home that sold in Emerald Isle NC this month was $782,000. Of the 13 homes that sold in Emerald Isle NC in January the sold at an average of 93% of list price. The average price per square foot for homes sold in Emerald Isle this month was $254.10 per square foot.

There was 1 lot sold in Emerald Isle during the month of January 2015. This lot was sold for $270,000 which was 85% of list price. The lot was located in Stillwater Cove subdivision.

Best Island to Live on:

EMERALD ISLE, NORTH CAROLINA

Although there are about a million reasons why living in Emerald Isle, NC is the best,
this article from Islands.com points out a few of those.

1. The Cost of Island Life.  Unlike remote islands, it takes a 15 minute car ride to get off the island
and to more affordable groceries, gas, and shopping.

2. On-the-beach Homes.  The costs of beach homes is way less here on Emerald Isle then if you went to a
highly developed beach resort area such as the Florida Keys or Maui.

3. How a Day Starts. “Just as you find on distant islands, people go to bed early on Emerald Isle.
The best part of the day is sunrise. By 6 a.m., a handful of people are on the beach with a coffee
cup in one hand and a dog leash in the other.”

4. The Weekend: Plenty of room on the beach for everyone to enjoy.

5. Way Out of Touch: Our island is not overly developed, their are no chain restaurants,
fast food drive thru, or massive hotels to block the views.

Emerald Isle is a terrific place to live or to come and visit.  Things are low key and time moves slow on Emerald Isle

If you have never been to Emerald Isle before, I seriously suggest you add it to your bucket list!
